Well, Pat Buchanan agrees with Biden or is it the other way around. Interesting article.

For any who are interested in a great interview from today on Fresh Air. http://www.npr.org/programs/fresh-air/

Dexter Filkins On ISIS And The 'Bitter Consequences' Of The Iraq War

Give this a listen.

Or, read...

Some good background by one very knowledgeable person in this subject.

Iraq had progressed too far from the draconian ideas of Sharia law and ISIS is trying to impose that so expect some kick back from the Iraqi Sunnis.

I wonder if he has the pilots and the maintenance for the jets although with the oil they have they could afford both I imagine.

I'm sure their pilots suck, but they'll be flying unopposed.

I wonder if we will finally be seeing those Russian shoulder fired SAMs that went missing in Libya magically appear in ISIS hands?

From the link in Post 274.

"It's now taken for granted by most Iraqi politicians that the Sunnis have carved out their own area, and that things will never be the same."

And he still does not get it.

"Mr Maliki is trying to form a new government but has rejected calls to create an emergency coalition which would include all religious and ethnic groups."

What the hell are they fighting for or buying used fighter planes? Start building embassies and appoint ambassadors.

I think if Iraq is facing an existential threat....the Shia controlled sector that is...it is wrong to think Malaki is going to step down. They are concerned about saving Baghdad not changing Prime Ministers and inviting people opposed to their system into the government.

I have read that Iraqi Sunni's who are moderates are opposed to an ISIS governed Islamic state. So it is still in a state of flux.
