I think you have that one on auto-repeat.

I like hearing Cerphe announce the band. It reminds me of the old WHFS with him, Damien, Weasel, etc. Good memories.

I've had many a conversation with Damien who works at the area's best used vinyl shop (Joe's Record Paradise in Silver Spring). He had a stroke a while back and isn't quite as vibrant as he once was. He remains, however, encyclopedic in his knowledge of rock history. Nice guy.

I've worn the CD out, Pat. Time to refresh it on my buffing machine!
So, Time Loves A Hero-Lil Featz
Good memories there John! WHFS was the only radio station! Us old DC denizens get around-I saw that our local community radio station had a booth set up at the Lions Club annual fish fry this year and in talking to the Gen. Mgr. I brought up their love for Little Feat and sure enough we were trading war stories of the great music scene and bar hopping in the old days in Georgetown and all of the great venues. Merriweather Post Pavilion in Colombia, Md. was the first pay concert I ever attended-Steppenwolf/ Mountain, 11th row center! Remember all of those free concerts? P Street Beach was a favorite. The NPS would provide a stage and generator to any band that wanted to play on the weekend to keep the hippies off the streets!
How about the new avatar, guys?

A stroke too? I remember that he had a serious motorcycle(?) crash that took him off the air for... damn.... I think a couple of years. (I wonder whether there's a connection.) He came back and was as sharp as ever but his speech was very slow and slurred. As you say, he has an incredibly broad and deep knowledge of music (as did Weasel).
I'm sure that being the station owner's son helped Damian to keep his job. Nepotism has its place and that would be a prime example, IMO. What a gift that station was!

Souls? Sheesh! I thought I'd licked that "multiple personality disorder" thing!

Indeed! I'm feelin' a little old right now and I'm probably 10 years younger than either of you.
KOCI director is a guy named Brian Helvey. I've yet to take him up on his offer of a tour of the station. Maybe soon...

You know, John, it could still be the effects of a motorcycle accident as opposed to a stroke. I just assumed from his behavior/appearance that it had been a stroke.

Grandpa was a farmer in Greeley amongst many other things starting with barnstorming after the Great War in a surplus Jenny. Founding Daedalian. Boy, did I ever screw the pooch by not going through the doors that lineage could have provided. Ah well-maybe I'll get Eggs & Bacon to teach me to fly?
