I see. So you were being sarcastic because you realize that there is no way you will lose your Heathcare with Bernie as President?

If you lose Tricare it will be because the plan Bernie replaces it with will be better.

As for my son, yeah, he has Tricare, and after he retires in October he will still have it. And if Bernie comes along and replaces it with Medicare for all he will piss and moan about how all these slackers are now getting for free what he had to earn. Because he is one of those "I've got mine, fuck you" Republicans just like you.

In Boston your accent depends on what part of the city you grew up in. People in "Southie", Charlestown and the Back Bay neighborhoods each speak a different language.

I used to be able to shift in and out of my Baltimore accent at the drop of a hat. Having lived on the other side of the country fro almost 20 years now, I've pretty much lost the knack.

Can you imagine the outrage the GOP will direct at the world when Bernie comes out and says he will replace Tricare? You and I both know that will never be accepted by Americans because they/us love the veterans. Face it TJ deep down you are very happy your son will have Tricare for life after he retires...one less thing on your mind to worry about on behalf of your son and his family.

Better than Tricare? I find that hard to believe. Tricare is not totally successful because it is single payer but because it is comrades giving healthcare to other comrades. You were a medic once you know what I am talking about. If Single Payer is born someday Tricare will remain as a separate program. Like a big brother.

I don't know what you are talking about with that comrades to comrades stuff.

My son and his family generally go to civilian doctors and Tricare pays for it.

The treatment facilities on base aren't as good.

And yes, I'm glad he has it. I'm also glad I have Medicare. I really have nothing to gain by the country going to Medicare for all.

I'm all into the "I've got mine." It's the "Fuck You" part that I don't go for.

I just can't play that "Dog in the Manger" part.

Even though I had to wait till 65 to get Medicare, the prospect of someone else getting it at birth doesn't bother me. I think it's the right thing to do.
