She finally met her match, went up against someone who is let's say, a bit more creative with the truth, and the best man won.

The difference between a fibber and a profligate liar isn't subtle, but was of no Interest to the demographic that chose demagoguery over fact based reason.

Here's some interesting stuff.

In 2008 Obama got 69.5 million votes.

In 2012 Obama got 65.9 million votes

In 2016 Hillary Clinton so far has 60.3 million votes. A few more will dribble in as provisional ballots are added but you can see what the bottom line is going to be.

In 2012 Mitt Romney got 60.9 million votes.

So far Trump has 59.9 million votes.

So it appears that Trump is going to win win less votes than Romney had when he lost.

In fact both candidates are going to underperform Mitt Romney.

Presumably as the population is growing one would expect the vote counts to be getting higher each election.

But they are not.

Here's another way to look at it.

Republicans:

2008 McCain": 59.9 million votes
2012 Romney: 60.9 million votes
2016 Trump: 59.9 million votes

Pretty consistant

Democrats

2008 Obama: 69.5 million votes
2012 Obama: 65.9 million votes
2016 Clinton: 60.3 million votes

On a downhill slide

There is logic behind the numbers for the Democratic votes.
There was less excitement for an Obama second term and even less for a Hillary presidency.

Here's another pattern I noticed.

1988, Michael Dukakis, Zero Charisma, Lost
1992, Bill Clinton, Charismatic, Won
1996, Bill Clinton, Chaismatic, Won
2000, Al Gore, Zero Charisma, Lost
2004, John Kerry, Zero Charisma, Lost
2008, Barack Obama, Charismatic, Won
2012, Barack Obama, Charismatic, Won
2016, Hillary Clinton, Zero Charisma, Lost

The charisma = popular equation is eternal.

Exactly.

And that makes it a valuable asset in an election.

I understand the zero charisma thing very well.

You may find it hard to belive, but I am actually a Zero Charisma kind of guy myself.
