What you two are spouting is the essence of Trump's appeal. You guys need to get a grip. The party is over. And that pasty white skin of yours will still earn you a lot of undeserved privilege.

nah... not at all
I feel more melancholy about it
like, the bus no longer stops here but respectful that the stop had to be moved because my neighborhood is older now and doesn't warrant a stop
I could have moved a few blocks over but... I like my old house.
and yes, I am cognitive that this is Trump appeal.
But my high hopes for the outsider just never materialized. I am not the good ole boy type so.... I got nothin.
I do take issue with my white skin being any sort of advantage.

Oh yes, the party of tolerance... as long as you see things my way...

Finally you have seen the light, what took you this long?

as too the rest of my post, sorry it's not not in line with whats important to you and that you don't like the metaphor. OK, I lied, I could care less

Oh you can feel whatever you feel. And I can think whatever I think.
I just thought you'd like to connect to reality a little. If not, that's on you.
You enjoy being mean to people sometimes, I think. But not owning it, so much. On me? My ass.

Goodness, it wasn't just Barbara, it's all the smug judgmental democrats in my life. Why should I vote for a party who's members find me, an older white male, to be everything that is wrong with this world?

Denying someones feeling is very confrontational and wholly wrong.
Nothing more I can say.

I agree with you. Barb gets away with a lot of shit here because she's the only female and all the politically correct girly men protect her. She likes being the Queen Bee around here. Now, watch all the shit that comes flying at me because I posted this.

come on, don't you think your posts a bit insensitive and frankly not valid in as much as we all have feelings..
Having feelings is never wrong, it's how you perceive things that give you the feelings.
What you do about them is a separate issue.

You are reacting to Barbara. All the Democrats in the world are not here, and you don't know them. But you said that about Barbara, and you can talk to here and know her.
All God's children are smug and judgemental, if they are so awful as to think they are right and someone else is wrong, eh?
I'm just trying to urge us all to keep it real, and not take it over the top. Disagreement is not hate. Suggesting their are other ways to feel besides yours is not saying yours is full of shit. Saying you are 'away from reality' as someone else sees it is not a nut-kicking attack.
You are choosing to put all that stuff on it.
I'm not telling you how to feel. Why would I do something as high-handed and unfeeling as that? I'm just throwing some reaction at you. It's honest reaction, not meant to be injurious. You're pissed, you're hurting. I mean to be helpful, believe it or not.

I also get judged by young folks and treated poorly because of my age, they blame my generation for the shit sandwich we've left them and I cannot say I blame them, but I personally had little to do with it. The democrats need a bad guy and Trump just isn't bad enough. I've fought against discrimination and for equality all my life. Ask anyone who knows me. But that's not enough to keep me from being wrapped up with all the other bad guys is it, because I'm white, I'm evil to the liberals no matter what my actions, no matter that I've been a liberal democrat all my life.
The democrats don't want unity, they just want another scapegoat to blame. I get it.... it's a well worn republican tactic.
The battle lines have been drawn. You democrats can fight it out with the republicans, I don't want anything to do with either of you, you're both self serving hypocrites and you both disgust me.

Pots I am also white and male and I don't see it as rejection but as common sense. Women have been second class citizens here far to long.
This nation's greatest natural resource is its people and at least half are female then there is a bunch more who are African Americans or Spanish speaking. does it make a whit of sense to ignore that resource? Personally I don't think so YMMV.
My Florence was of Spanish extraction, the bloodline was pure all the way back to Castile but here was this young convent taught Texas girl complete with the accent. She was shunned or made fun of so she schooled herself. People on the group who met here had not a clue where she was from because she had no accent.
She sang the Panis Angelicus in her parish church as a solo from the age of 14. At 18 she left an unhappy home and made her own way - honestly. She soloed in a Cessna 150 after 8 hours of instruction while in Japan. She modeled while in Japan as well as taught English to rising young managers. Back home she modeled in her late thirties and started a successful business in her forties.
Now after we married and I retired her she took up cooking and like everything else she did it to perfection. That was likely because her mother always put her down so she set out to show the world that she could do whatever she set her mind to and do it well. I will say this though , she scared the giblets out of most men but not me, my first wife was the exact opposite and I found Florence to be a delight - a soulmate.
Now she is/was not alone, there are countless women out there as competent, shall we ignore their talents?
