The Republicans are stuck on the horns of a dilemma.

They are damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

Right now Trump is leading the field by about 274 delegates.

And that lead is just going to grow.

By the time the convention rolls around Trump will be ahead by at least 400 delegates. That's even if he doesn't reach the magic 1,237 number, which he probably will.

So yeah, the Republicans can nominate whomever they want at the convention, but if they fuck Trump out of the nomination they are fucked. And if they go ahead and nominate him, they are fucked.

It'll come to that. There is no realistic possibility that Trumpler will arrive at the convention with a huge delegate lead if not an outright majority. The choice will be between Trump as nominee and Trump as leader of a riotous insurgency.
