BX-300......found it last spring for $10....Savers is this new chain of thrift stores...I was able to pick up 6 Type II sealed tonight, along with some sealed type 1s for just $4...
yesterday they had an Akai GXC-725d for $19.....did not rewind though. I took it to the register because I thought it was 1/2 off....but alas no. I put it back. I did not need it.
It was in perfect cosmetic condition

A very nice, under appreciated deck. If you can get the coin together, send it to Perry in Va for a complete overhaul, and you be damn close to a dragon, for very little scratch. That guy does amazing work.

I have some Quantegy 456 on metal reels coming for the Revox. Guy says it was only used once and it's in excellent condition.
$17 a piece for two of them. The metal reels alone are worth that.

Oh the Akai is gone was not there today....it would have been $20, plus another for the belt....I have too many already. And if it was not the belt another headache lol....
I do not think it will beat the Nak anyway...

Perhaps not. But the Akai tape decks were sweet machines, especially the RTRs. I liked the glass heads that last forever.

I have the Akai GX- 635d and the Akai GX-630d......I have a car note now so I cannot just drip $20 bucks on a tape deck lol
