This makes two, but this one works and runs/sounds excellent!.
The other I tried to restore as it was not working when I bought it. I replaced all the belts, idler and lights. It ran great for about three hours, then went dead. Lights up, tape turns but no sound and after a few minutes it shuts down. Have made several attempts to figure it out, to no avail. I guess it's now a parts machine to support the "new" deck?
Also picked up more albums;
Jeff Beck---Beck-Ola
Mott the Hoople---All the young Dudes
Donald Fagan---The Night Fly
Atomic Rooster---Made in England
$5 each at a local record store called "Vinyl Daze"

cool
I have a Nakamichi BX-300 that I need to get some belts for
I have Nakamichi BX-150 that sounds pretty good too
I love getting a great sounding cassette for $.49...of course not all of them sound good but when they do it is awesome. Try some of those old XDR cassette tapes from Capitol that came out in the 80s and early 90s...stands for Extra Dynamic Range.

The Atomic Rooster album needs a pass through the Spin Clean.
So far the Mott album sounds awesome. But, I'll give it a bath too, just for the hell of it.
In a few minutes, I'm headed out to the car to get the Nak tape deck and plug it up, give it a spin.

Way back in the day, when it was new, I picked up a BX-150 at the exchange in Subic Bay. Sometime in the early nineties, I quit listening to tape, thinking it was passe' and gave it to the Salivatin' Army......
....and thought I had handed over my cassette tapes too. Until I found them in the storage room about a year ago.

I use to record radio shows like King Biscuit and Thistle & Shamrock to mention a few. Still enjoy going back and listening all these years later the shows. Thought of putting on the computer but still haven't yet.

Set up the Nak, cleaned & demagnetized the heads, loaded a Ten Years After tape and fired her up.
Amazing this thing still works and sounds so great after 35 years..............

Go ahead and order a belt kit for it. You don't want to have a tape get ate!

The parts machine has new belts and pinch rollers in it. Lamps too. I think I'll just go ahead and scavenge all the good parts out of it now and bag them up. That'll save me time down the road.
