Generally, sedition is conduct or speech that incites individuals to violently rebel against the authority of the government. Insurrection includes the actual acts of violence and rebellion.

Whell’s nearest and dearest are on trial for seditious conspiracy. Two of them have plead guilty already, and are cooperating with the government. Since they engaged in actual acts of violence, it was, to anyone capable of rational thought, an insurrection.
