But, if you have ever watched a city council meeting, or county commissioner meeting they have new projects that are a "necessity" and the current projects need more money. So, sales tax goes from 4 cents to 5 cents to 6 cents to 7 cents. It is not on food then it is. Property tax goes up 250% since I built this house and the value maybe 50%.

This is why politicians spend so much money running for office. Power. The power to spend trillions of tax dollars and be worshipped and fawned over and treated like kings by those who want to make it big on the taxpayers dime. Like many big US corporations, the MIC, etc.....

That's interesting.
Because just going by your posts, I can't see any difference between the two of you. For all I can tell, you might very well be Ted Cruz.

Nonsense. Religious wackos have ruined the Republican party. I'm simply fiscally conservative and consider one religion as preposterous as the other.

I think you are overlooking a lot of hidden taxes. But, I will accept 40%. Imagine how the economy would explode if you could cut that to even 30%.

Examples of these hidden taxes?
Imagine that the economy doesn't explode and the unintended consequences. Be sure to remember the additional Federal economic stimulus that began with Bush's actions at the end of his final term and the growth that has been stimulated as a result of all this money.

On the other hand, money that is transferred via taxes gets back into the economy rather than being stashed away in Scrooge McDuck's vault.

Hilarious encounter by Cruz with Trump supporters. He is having a Rodney Dangerfield "I don't get no respect" moment but doesn't know it. I could say poor Ted but find it hard to feel sorry for this SOB.

So, you are Scrooge McDuck and rather than spend that extra 10% you are going to put it in savings. Although that is not necessarily a bad thing it is not the way people act in the real world. The employees I had spent pretty much every nickel they made by the next Monday. The only reason they had anything is because we put 15% in an account for them. Of course, then some of them would quit to get the money and buy a Harley. Actually happened.
