You're being far to lenient the traitorous bastard. I say we get a pair of pliers, a blowtorch and get medieval on his ass.

Funny, the article in the Atlantic was citing a surge in violent rhetoric as an indicator that more people are ready to get violent for real....

What surge? I've always thought that such traitors should be dealt with harshly.

Trump's rhetoric has always been violent, from his call for the death of the accused 'Central Park' muggers. He has endorsed beatings at rallies, torture, and bloody public displays of capital punishment. If he has the ability in the future to make it happen, I'm sure he will. Meantime his rhetoric serves to increase and normalize violent feelings everywhere.

They are telegraphing, even "Projection" of their own thoughts and feelings.

We should listen!

Tucker Carlson on October 30, 2020: “Reporters hate Trump with an all-consuming mania. They hate him so intensely that at times it's been amusing to watch.”

Two months later (Jan. 4, 2021):

As counterintuitive as it might be, perhaps the best thing for American democracy would be for Carlson to keep bumbling his way through more January 6 footage and to keep images of the insurrection in front of millions of viewers for as long as possible. If that’s how McCarthy and Carlson intend to restore the image of the GOP as a normal political party, who are any of us to argue with such public-relations geniuses?

It's kinda sad that our resident "fake news" expert, Whell, continues to buy into Tucker's nonsense hook, line and sinker, even to the point of "just asking questions" about some of Tucker's cherry-picked videos.
