In an interview with Insider, Paul Manafort, who served as Donald Trump's campaign chairman, made his first public admission that in 2016 he shared polling data from the Trump campaign with Konstantin Kilimnik, a longtime business associate with suspected ties to Russian intelligence.

Kilimnik then passed the data on to Russian spies, according to the US Treasury Department, which has characterized the data as "sensitive information on polling and campaign strategy."

Now even Trump's criminal sidekicks are admitting that "No collusion, no obstruction" mantra is bullshit.

If you can get past the paywall (my tweaked browser can), I highly recommend the entire original article in the New Yorker.

It's amazing that anyone can still support this horribly anti-American man unless fascist authoritarianism is the actual appeal (which CPAC demonstrated it is).

AFAIC this is why the Republican Party should be considered as and treated as an enemy of the state. Oh I'm sure there are those Republicans who aren't part of the Reich-Wing contingent (it's no longer the fringe) but face it, they've lost control of the party. The non-wingnut portion of Republicans and the former Republicans now identifying as Independents need to form a new party. Liz Cheney could be their presidential candidate. Definitely better than these fossils running the GOP now.

The defenders of Donald are streaming out from under their bridges all over the nation tonight. What are they and "the Donald" worried about? I mean it's only some documents Melania boxed up by mistake right? Are they afraid the feds will find something else? Doncha' think you should have been a little nicer to the FBI while you were in the People's House now?

Today it was revealed that Barr's DOJ lied to the Congress and the public about the nature of deliberations as to whether the Lying Dotard should have been prosecuted for Obstruction of Justice is association with the Mueller investigation. Here's how the plaintiff in the case described today's opinion:

Back in 2019, Attorney General Bill Barr cited a secret Department of Justice memo as key to his reasoning for not charging then-President Donald Trump with obstruction of justice at the end of the Mueller investigation.

We sued to make the memo public, and in 2021, a federal judge ruled in our favor, saying that the memo’s contents raise some serious questions, including whether Barr and the DOJ acted in bad faith in describing the memo to Congress and in court. The part of the memo that was released then made clear that the whole exercise was meant to give cover to Donald Trump, but it’s crucial to know the full content of the memo.

The DOJ appealed the decision, fighting to keep the memo secret.

And today, more than a year later, we won. The federal appeals court upheld the district judge’s decision, ruling that the DOJ waited too long to claim that the memo helped Barr decide whether to make a statement on the Mueller report, meaning that the deliberative process privilege did not apply.
