As far as your "malice - aforethought" comments, the record doesn't favor your there at all. There was a significant amount of pre-planning that was designed to keep a lid on potential violence. However, the counter-protesters that were being imported into Charlottesville to "confront" the protester were a one of the primary concerns of town officials before Saturday. Did the Antifa/BLM folks who came in from out of town buy their black clothes, bandanas and makeshift shields that morning, or did they bring along because they were looking for a fight?

It gave the neo-Nazis one less town square to stir up shit in. It may not be obvious to you, but this is reaction to der Trumpenfuhrer and his neo-Nazi fanboys whose ascendancy he has helped.
