Your post above is false on so many fronts its hard to know where to begin.
Let's try this: if the counter-protesters stayed away from Charlottesville, or stayed on the other side of town completely away from the Neo-Nazi crowd, do you think there would still have been an "imbroglio"?
As far as your "malice - aforethought" comments, the record doesn't favor your there at all. There was a significant amount of pre-planning that was designed to keep a lid on potential violence. However, the counter-protesters that were being imported into Charlottesville to "confront" the protester were a one of the primary concerns of town officials before Saturday. Did the Antifa/BLM folks who came in from out of town buy their black clothes, bandanas and makeshift shields that morning, or did they bring along because they were looking for a fight?

I so sorry for defaming your peace-loving neo-Nazis. I already said several times that i think it would be better if we just ignored these neo-Nazis. But there are a lot of people whose racial and ethnic backgrounds make the fact that these cretins have been reinvigorated by your Dear Leader and his White House staff very unsettling.
Again, do you find Nazis and anti-Nazis to be morally equivalent?

All of which makes me wonder whose civil rights violations Trump's DoJ will actually be investigating. The current AG is a (former?) racist, after all.

That said, it's up to the citizens of Atlanta and not you or me. As my fishing buddy's father from Atlanta said, "Those KKK clowns sure knew how to fuck up a perfectly good rock."

They tore a statue down in Durham. I wonder how they think that helps anything from a practical standpoint.

It gave the neo-Nazis one less town square to stir up shit in. It may not be obvious to you, but this is reaction to der Trumpenfuhrer and his neo-Nazi fanboys whose ascendancy he has helped. So, indirectly der Trumpenfuhrer and his Alt-Right base contributed to this. There are a lot of people upset by Trump and the behavior from his Fascist supporters, advisors and enablers.

Saw that, rather saddening. Passionate venting in response to recent events, I suppose.
