Transgender vet's truck painted 'Trump,' torched
http://usat.ly/2fy8Cvw
NASHVILLE — A transgender woman's truck was spray-painted with the words "Trump" and torched in her driveway as she and her 3-year-old son were inside their Cookeville, Tenn., home early Saturday morning. The victim said police told her Monday morning that they are investigating the incident as a hate crime.A spokesperson with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office confirmed they received a report of the burned and painted truck early Saturday morning and are investigating. But the office did not return a message about whether they are investigating the incident as a hate crime.Because the incident may have been a hate crime, The Tennessean is identifying the victim as "Elle."

Schilling applauds shirt threatening journalists
http://usat.ly/2fbjpxp
A man wore a shirt threatening violence to the media at a Donald Trump rally over the weekend in Minnesota, and former All-Star pitcher Curt Schilling saw it fit to applaud the apparel in a tweet on Monday.Until April the former World Series hero was a member of the media as an MLB analyst with ESPN. He lost that job after a series of insensitive social media posts like the one above.Schilling, who has said he's considering running for a Senate seat in Massachusetts in 2018, received a ton of backlash on Twitter following the post. He responded by saying it was "100% sarcasm" and repeatedly asked if the shirt was as offensive as Benghazi.

'Obama made me a better man,' Glenn Beck tells 'The New Yorker'
http://usat.ly/2fb5cQR
Glenn Beck is suffering an existential crisis — politically speaking at least. The most recent crisis — Beck has a long history of heavy on-air soul searching — began to simmer with the rise of Donald Trump, but it reached full boil when he heard first lady Michelle Obama's speech in the wake of Trump's lewd remarks on a decade old Access Hollywood recording."It doesn’t matter what party you belong to — Democrat, Republican, Independent— no woman deserves to be treated this way," Obama said. And the words hit Beck like a ton of bricks. He called it "the most effective political speech I have heard since Ronald Reagan.""Those words hit me where I live," Beck told The New Yorker in an interview. "If you’re a decent human being, those words were dead on."

Not So Debased
Quote:
"It hasn't been a great year, but I like what I've seen from week to week. The kids have really improved. This is a great place to live, great place to raise a family," Darrell Reed said. "It's a red area, a red city."
"What worries me is what happens after the election. I don't think either side is ready to accept the other side winning and we can't have that kind of division, not the way the world is now. People might think it's time to do something to us. Tell you the truth, I think the problem will be bigger if Trump loses. I think Democrats, liberals, are more like to be accepting of a result like that. Sorry, I have to go get this photo op."
And he scooted off down the sideline to get one last shot of his son in his football uniform at the end of the last game of his last season.
The seniors formed up at about the 30-yard line and, as the pep band played the Hershey High School alma mater–its melody borrowed from Cornell's "Far Above Cayuga's Waters"–the seniors raised their helmets in tribute. The cheerleaders raised their pompoms and everybody sang. I stayed in the stadium for a long moment. The authentic, uncomplicated unity of a high school football team and its fans, even at the end of a long and lopsidedly bad season, was something worth wrapping yourself in on the last weekend of a long and lopsidedly bad campaign that finally had cracked the foundation of so many of our national illusions. I stayed and listened to the whole song. I ducked under the stands and bought a bag of popcorn—to benefit the drama club, I think. The game traffic was letting out into what was left of the rally traffic. Highway 322 was dark, and that orange slice of moon hung lower and lower over the darkened hills.

Regardless of who wins this election if you are overjoyed with the result there is something seriously wrong with you.

Well, this lady seems overjoyed, in anticipation.....
I wonder if Trump will reach out to her, as it were.

I'll settle for "relieved" if we've seen the end of the lyin' king of Trump Tower in politics.
