Cold Hard Fact #1: 97 of the nations 100 poorest counties are in red states.
And I am not going to provide a link since you insulted TJ.

Cold Hard Fact #2: 20 of the 25 top universities are in the blue states. So guess where your best and brightest are going to school. And when they discover condoms and realize that they do not not need to abstain, they ain't coming back. No link for you on this either.

I agree, the nastiness was uncalled for.

Do you really think we would have any trouble getting the best of you begging to cross back over here.

You would have the vast majority of crime, the vast majority of entitlements, disability benefits. Gangs would rob and murder you at will, or you would join one. School drop outs would the rule.

You would have nobody who understood capital markets and how large business's are funded and operated. You couldn't run shit.

Next think you know you would be importing some evil business man to try to get some semblance of an economy up and running.
Wrong again. I guess I would be in no mans land in a tent somewhere, living off the land as I vote independent when possible. If that option isn't reasonable, I will vote R or D according to who I feel will do the best job in a particular position. It really has nothing to do with the D or the R.

I grew up on nothing in a little shack in the middle of nowhere. It really isn't that hard to do. As most people know already, I am also a 2nd amendment supporter and would have no issue defending my little garden and livestock that I would be living on. I know how to distil alcohol and to convert a gas engine to run on it. You have to remember, some of us aren't greedy and know how to help each other out. You won't see much of that on your side, especially as the funds start depleting because inflation will go out of control as you have way too much money chasing too few goods.

You also made no provision in your original statement about opting to go back over the lines. Without that option, I think the Republican side would fail first. The rest of the country is far more adaptable to change, and while the entitlement seekers may be mostly Democrat, that doesn't necessarily translate to the Democrat being an entitlement seeker. It really wouldn't be that much different than it is now anyway. Most of the subsidized services are already paid for by the middle class as the upper class has weaseled its way from a 70-90% tax rate down to the mid 30% on net income, and even less on other gains. The democrats would obviously become even more soshulis t out of necessity, but those that tried to take advantage of that would obviously be kicked out because they would belong on your side.

Republicans aren't the only minds that understand economics.

No fair, Zerpjunk. People who don't vote (like criminals) have to be split 50-50.

You want to put your image of 'people you don't like' in Demoland, not actual Democrats.

Your half would miss the Democratic insistence of some checks on the national security state, and the basic concern for the bottom half. You'd wind up with some combination of banana-dictatorship civil liberties, right-to-starve economics (with a safety-net to match), a demand-poor economy like now, except much worse (only the military-industrial guys would flourish), and East German borders.

I will grant you the Democrat-half would have some budget woes, at least.

The mention of symbiosis is very right-on.

I have a sneaky suspicion that Zero's Sovereign Nation will modeled after the Republics of Texas and Arizona. Rick Perry can then become el Presidente.

Maybe we should take our top percentage of the wealthy and the bottom feeders that refuse to work and take advantage of the system and put them together somewhere and let the rest of us get along with our lives instead.

I just have one question. Why does this thread, that is based on a totally fantastic and imaginary OP, bear the title 'Cold Hard Fact?' There's hardly a warm soft fact in it.
