I can hardly remember 55 and have never been on medicaid, so snore. When this country eventually regains its senses and institute universal healthcare I might actuually wake up and applaud.

For many years here in California Medicaid, which is called Medi-Cal here, is administered by the county. I can say that in my county it has always been if you have $3,000.00 or more in assets you are not eligible for Medi-Cal, this applies to our food stamp program too. I would be surprised if it is much different anywhere else in this state. So, this 3 grand max gets a meh from me. An out of pocket emergency room visit could cost you that.

Carl, my uninsured son went to emergency room a couple weeks ago. Received IV meds and had a sonogram. So far....$2,000. Still more bills to come.
