Sounded to me like he was preaching to the 30% who believe they are victims- "Where's yo dolla? Where's your Stafford Act money?"

I suppose that its "racist" to talk about this, though.

There's an awfully good case to be made that the Bush Administration failed to comply with the Stafford Act after Katrina.

It seems to me with a lousy and losing candidate, the GOP's henchmen have been tasked to parade this nugget around again. The trouble is that there's nothing new here and people have already decided to what degree, if any, that this sort of stuff is relevant. After a President has served for almost 4 years, I'd say not at all.

it was interesting to note that all traces of his ebonic accent disappeared immediately when he hit the national stage. Reminds me of the little gay kid they have on the news station up here. When he first started, he was over the top flamboyant. Then someone obviously had a talk with him about his future on the air, and ever since his voice and mannerisms have shown not a trace of his former flaming ways.
I'm sure Obama reverts right back to speaking jive whenever Barbara Billingsley or others of her ilk are the only ones within earshot.

It's no different than GOP politicians acting like the bubba-wing of the party with their spanking new Cabela's hunting outfits and shotguns (and dead pheasant props) on the campaign trail.

"Ebonic?"
"Little gay kid"??
"Jive"???
"Flaming ways"????
Fffffffffffffffffuuuudge.................
You're pushing all the hot buttons, aren't you?
There's nothing odd, sinister, racist or whatever the hell you're trying to make this into about it. People of races or ethnic backgrounds different from the dominant one always try to develop the ability to transition between the social veneer of their own culture and the dominant one. It's a useful survival skill and a way of getting yourself "heard" by the greatest number of people.

Well, in that case you've got politicians trying to act like the rednecks to get a vote. With Obama it's not an act, he is one of them victim folk, been kept down by "the man". He's acting when he lets go of the street talk and pretends to be a statesman.

Nope. He's relating to his base, something Romney seems incapable of doing (other than to the callous rich).

Dang, bad poll numbers are bringing out the right's worst behavior. No matter what Obama does, he'll always be one of "them." Next thing you know, someone will be whistling "Dixie."
