People who liked Bernie, like me, didn't pony up because ultimately he is unelectable as a Democrat.
Republicans, otoh, have proven to operate with a much lower set of realistic standards for nomination.

You know what they say about stopped clocks. It's you who need to wake up. You deny the reality of something on the basis of who pointed it out.

A lot of people did pony up though. Some, like me, even ponied up after it was clear that he'd lost the nomination so that he could still fight for the principles he campaigned for.

No Robbin, I have been saying this even before the primaries started and the Bernie movement, that Hillary would make a rotten candidate not to mention the fodder she will give her opposition with the skeletons in her closet.
Trump is simply availing himself to these and wait till the campaign is in full swing. And try not to put the guilt trip on Bernie supporters if Hillary does not win nor gets badly bruised by Trump. Hillary with the collusion of the DNC asked for it.

I admire your devotion, but the stakes are too high to risk backing someone I like, also running on promises that can't be kept.

Sanders has endorsed Clinton.
Feel free to vote for Trump if that will mitigate your anger.

Oh my guy did not win so the American democratic process is rigged. Simpleton logic.
Not good for democracy either.

Like it or not (I do not), the Golden Rule tends to dominate politics for its own benefit. Oversight by an incorruptable agency with the power to enforce sensible rules of conduct is the answer, if it can be instituted. Backing candidates who haven't a practical plan or the power to bring one forth is not.

What did you expect him to do? And when did I ever give the slightest indication that I might vote for Trump. It's possible not to trust or respect Clinton without supporting Trump..... or is that too nuanced for you.
