Chances of Trump being incarcerated is nearly zero, not because he is not a criminal (insurrection & theft of classified documents should easliy fetch him life), but because the voters do not have the will power to lock up an ex-president. Why else is he the slam dunk Repugnant nominee for potus?
Because the majority of the Republican base has been so thoroughly radicalized and the entire Democrat party has been so thoroughly vilified that anything, anything is a better alternative. That's why. Along comes a guy who can unify those voters like no other, so the party welcomed him aboard the train. Then he proceeded to take it over. The GOP being unable/unwilling to change horses mid-stream now looks like it's being drug down stream rather than to solid footing on the other side.

Now Trump's lawyers want Judge Engoron to delay issuing his verdict (its still unsigned) for 30 days, reason given being the defense was not consulted before a verdict was written.

They are going to appeal anyway, so this looks like stalling to raise money. Guess it takes 30 days to launder the money before it reaches NYC from Moscow.

The defense being consulted about a verdict is a thing? I never saw that on Perry Mason (grin).

I am of the opinion that Trump's crop of attorneys are not that good. So they tend to say things that well respected attorneys will not say in public in open court or when arguing the case in public. Here is a comment from Ms. Hubba about the 14th Amendment case appealed to SCOTUS.

Quote:
Addressing the Supreme Court’s looming 14th Amendment decisions on whether Donald Trump can be disqualified from state ballots for engaging in insurrection, Habba decided it would be a good time to remind people of just how much Trump has done for Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh.

“I think it should be a slam dunk in the Supreme Court; I have faith in them,” Habba said on Fox News. “You know, people like Kavanaugh who the president fought for, who the president went through hell to get into place, he’ll step up.
How much more blatant can you get?
TV host John Oliver offered Clarence Thomas $1M/year for life plus a $3M RV if he would resign.
If our SCOTUS can be compromised, look for states to reject their decisions like Hawaii who basically overruled their absolute gun ownership verdicts.

N.Y. judge signs $350 million judgment against Trump in business fraud case

It ain't going to be easy since it is reported that Trump is finding no takers to write his bond. Trump's attorneys had asked for a 30 day delay and Judge Engoron turned them down. But the 30 day clock has begun.

On the bright, the GFM campaign has raised almost $1M so far, or he could sell 2,000 of his sneakers at $200,000.00 each, a listing price on ePay.

MADISON, Wis. — Bipartisan ethics regulators in Wisconsin have recommended felony charges against one of Donald Trump’s fundraising arms and other Republicans in a scheme that they say was meant to circumvent campaign finance laws to take out a powerful GOP lawmaker who has turned against Trump.

^^From the same link I was just reading, it even gets better.

Quote:
The ethics commission consists of three Republicans and three Democrats. If the district attorneys do not act within 60 days, the commission has the authority to refer its request for prosecution to Attorney General Josh Kaul (D).
