Heck yes. They have some of the most authentic protest music since Neil Young. My kid credited me the other day for introducing him to them (several years ago)

Renegades of Funk is my favorite.

Mitch McConnell’s close ties with Humana founder
By: John Bresnahan and Manu Raju
September 10, 2013 12:13 AM EDT

In 2005, David A. Jones Sr., founder of health insurance giant Humana Inc., needed help raising money for a Louisville, Ky., parks project he was personally overseeing. So Jones and then-Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson — a Democrat — turned to the most powerful person in Kentucky politics: GOP Sen. Mitch McConnell. They asked McConnell for $10 million in federal funds for the project. Instead, the then-Senate majority whip came through with $38 million in a spending earmark, breaking the good news himself to Jones in a late-night phone call.

Jones has also been quite helpful to McConnell; the veteran senator’s earmark came several months after it was disclosed that Jones and the charitable foundations he and his family control had donated $1.6 million to the McConnell Center at the University of Louisville, which both men attended.
.................................................. ..............................
But Jones has been one of McConnell’s most powerful and lasting political benefactors. Jones, his family and Humana employees have given hundreds of thousands of dollars to McConnell’s political committees over the past several decades, making them one of McConnell’s biggest sources of campaign dollars, campaign reports show.
Good reading.

Carl the good Senator is always bringing home the bacon...that is why he has been there 30 years. Paul will not last as long...if he does not produce for this State.

Luke Russert did a great number on the Tea Party guy running against him the other morning on the Chuck Todd show...that guy too has been accepting government money for a business or something.

Single Payer In Our Future

I do not know if there are any Gopers in this but I do not feel like being the originator of any more threads for awhile

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-f...2211922.column

I am sure the GOP will fight single payer since it will hurt the insurance industry.

On the other hand there would be a huge unemployment for clerks and insurance bureaucrats who decipher all the cpi codes or whatever they are.

but maybe more employment by the job creators since they would not have to worry about health care anymore for the employees

And this article shows yet another reason to outlaw lobbying. Get them out of the congress and things will be much better for the citizens.

Yep, single payer would fix our medical problems now and in the future just like removing the cap for the SS deduction so that the rich pay their fair share of their SS contribution would save the program for 47 more years.

Oh, never mind.
We all know how our favorite druggie likes to tell his sheeple how it is only those nasty libs only do pork barrel. The rest of the country knows it is how things get done in Washington and both parties use it.
The article stunned me a bit on the size of this eliteist pork barrel spending and proves what we basically already knew about why McConnell is so against fixing our healthcare system, they have their hands deep in his pockets.
