My prediction: inside of 20 days, US COVID-19 deaths per day will exceed 9000. This will mean COVID deaths will exceed the baseline death rate, and more than twice as many people will be dying per day than normal. More than 18,000 will be dying per day in the US.

I don't know why you quoted two posts in your message. You show no sign of understanding a particle of what either of us were saying. You almost could have stopped with 'Fk China,' it seems the sentiment overwhelmingly dominates your thinking. Again, this exchange started with my objecting to Trump indulging in scapegoating the Chinese. You object to my objection, it seems, because no one can scapegoat them too much for you. 'Fk China' indicates just the feverish emotion that frightens me, and a deafness to the danger of descending into a cycle of mutual hate with an adversary like China.

So let's step back into more rational musings. Gearing up to fight us: China would be insane to follow a policy that looked toward someday instigating a general war with the US, which would pretty much mean doomsday. But they are not insane to understand that strong military power is necessary to preclude same, just as we were not insane to seek deterrence against Russia. Sensible policy on both sides would seek someday to negotiate mutual force reductions.

As for Biden, not to mention Trump, I will say the democratic process as it now operates here does seem to be yielding less than optimum results.

Distraction, as by scapegoating the Chinese, looks now to risk the most extreme disaster.

Again, my prediction: 9000+ per day COVID deaths per day here by April 12th. I hope I'm wrong, but I am sure as hell not encouraged by the news, since I made that prediction, that the Republicans and our President are caught up in the notion that isolation rules should soon be lifted.

Many more workers than grandparents would die. Lesser death rate, but many more cases. The herd doesn't get exponential growth yet, but by mid-April, they will.
