Heck I dunno. You've got a point about pandoras box.

I've only been to a couple of gun shows myself, and all I bought was a flashlight. I could beat someone to death with it I suppose.

Btw, my mild mannered bro in law with a scary arsenal sent me this:

Agreed, way back when camping in Canada we'd hear them. Wolves too

The loons also have that swimming underwater trick that's pretty neat.

How can this be

A study released Tuesday by the government's Bureau of Justice Statistics found that gun-related homicides dropped from 18,253 in 1993 to 11,101 in 2011. That's a 39 percent reduction.

Another report by the private Pew Research Center found a similar decline by looking at the rate of gun homicides, which compares the number of killings to the size of the country's population. It found that the number of gun homicides per 100,000 people fell from 7 in 1993 to 3.6 in 2010, a drop of 49 percent.

Yep. We've only had 140,000 firearms homicides since 9-11. Hooray.

My take is that crime is down because the money printers are busy keeping people placated. It's not sustainable.
