I will concede that the PPACA reminds me of the saying "A camel is a horse designed by a committee." The PPACA is certainly not an elegant solution (as single-payer would have been).
Suggesting that the PPACA is going to have dire consequences, before much of it has even gone into effect, is like putting a tailback into the hall of fame after one or two seasons.

As Dorothy Parker once wrote about congress "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think"

Who said anything about "dire consequences?" I'm simply observing what is already taking place, and suggesting that these events are out of phase with the promises that the administration made regarding the PPACA.

"Dire consequences" is a phrase that suggests something "bad" will happen after a certain act has been committed, or in this context, policy has been implemented.

There. I said something about "dire consequences".

Don't tell me that you're actually someone who takes politicians' promises at face value. Both sides use innuendo and hyperbole to convince the electorate of the righteousness of their positions. Methinks the GOP is worse at it (we'll be greeted as liberators, WMD's are a slam dunk, the Iraq war will pay for itself, ....).

Yeah, but it's okay when they do it, 'cuz they keep promising me that tax cut.
That, and Jesus loves them more than the other guys.

Yep, you're right, errr... correct.

It's also ridiculous to hear the right-wing punditry bitching about Obama "promising" that unemployment would not go over 8% if the stimulus package wasn't passed. Those jagoffs know full well that such numbers are estimates, as are all economic projections.

Boss Limbaugh gets all self-righteous when the Labor Department or other economists revise their economic estimates because they didn't get it exactly right the first time. What part of the word "estimate" don't these @ssholes understand?

Yeah, well, how many jobs has Limbaugh actually created? Not including the maid he paid to fetch his dope for him?

Limbaugh-The only man on this planet I despise more than Hannity or Beck.

And they know exactly what they are doing, Finn. It's the fans that leave me bewildered.

Maybe because those fans are bewildered?

Or bewitched. It appears that witchcraft is now in the right wing's arsenal.
