Rob, I met a person on CL that I was buying a computer from. We met at a Starbucks and had a long chat. He works for a company that is strictly in the business of billing various insurance insurance companies for physician groups, smaller HMO's and so on. Entire company devoted to billing. From what he told me, it is a huge software driven operation. Imagine the overhead costs and yet another middle company. Too many service companies and not enough of real production.

By the way carriage house is sort of a misnomer. Our pproperty has a difference in levels of at least 50 feet so we bought a golf cart. Used to keep it in the barn down at the bottom, but that meant walking uphill after putting it away. So we got a mini barn from them and set it right beside the deck. Now we just climb the stairs and not the hill.
I don't know why, but it struck me as funny to mention the Amish and the DVR in the same breath.

Yeah I guess it does, it's only that if a program is on after 9:00 PM I can't stay awake through it unless there are a lot of nekkid ladies.

On the other hand, with the federal government now defining minimum essential coverage, it give the Feds leverage to, at a future time, expand the menu of what constitutes minimum essential coverage and replace the states as arbiters the content of individual and small group medical coverage.
I guess it depends on you POV. All of these things sound like positive attributes to me.

The best example of propaganda regarding Obamacare is the daily programming on Fox and Talk Radio, including the myth that it will cost the nation 2.5 million jobs (which you bought hook, line and sinker).

Enemy of freedom is an uninformed public. Surprise?

Sorry, there's no Weller 12 yr. old KSBW included with SNAP. Sounds like you could only afford me part time... Did I mention that we appreciate a good Bordeaux occasionally? It's a good thing that one of my clients sees fit to drop a gift card to a high end bottle shop on me a couple times a year.
I'm high maintenance, ya know.

Assuming you make enough money so as not to get subsidies or you are on Medicare already, mooching is better than being responsible?

Why am I not surprised that you fail to carry any health insurance. Just another libertarian moocher living off of the sweat of others. You must be a real peach to do business with. Friggin' parasite.
