That's what I've been doing too. Regina Spektor's version right now.
Getting ready to pack it up and head for Lawrence to hear my son's band tonight. I guess you could say it is a Father's Day concert, because they don't hit the stage until Midnight. Gotta finish a cup of coffee before I leave.

D-Ray
P.S. Good line on G.F. Handel. I don't think that you will get a chorus of boos for it, anyway.

You know, I have been the bassoonist in so many performances of the "Messiah" it makes my head spin. It is still one of my favorites.
We must remember though, that G.F.Handel was nothing more than a pop musician in the 1700's. He, along with J. S. Bach, served at the pleasure of royalty in the Baroque period.
What does that make the Beatles in a couple hundred years?
Cohen, priceless, enough said on the subject.

I think I have three or four different versions of the Messiah on vinyl. There was a you tube or summat about a year ago when a group in an Ontairio shopping mall did it in what was made to seem a spontaneous happening.
Ah here is the link;

The band added several new songs to their set, but kept in most of the crowd favorites. One of them made room for the kid to have a back in forth with drummer while he did some crazy slap bass. He also got to play a solo with his new toy that makes the bass sound like an electric guitar, while the guitarist played his other bass.
This all is too fun for me. I talked to the club owner, who is really happy to have them playing there. The place was a busy as I have seen it. It took me 20 minutes to get a beer. Sorry to rave on, but hey, it's Father's Day.
Regards,
D-Ray
P.S., Bob, you weren't bagging. We were sharing our opinions, which seems fitting here. And, KD's version is awesome.

CSNY - Four Way Street
Broke out the re-capped, refoamed EPI V100 and having a nice listening session. My wife is in Oklahoma, so volume is no issue today.
