I'm not. The gentleman you see above was a very smart, insightful person.

This might interest you, a few years back the Atlantic magazine (iirc) did an article on black influence on our early government. It basically concluded that our system was successful because the founders knew what people did to hold other people down, i.e., their experience with slavery better prepared them to keep government in check.

As horrible as it is slavery was reality and this gives black folks a founding claim.

If you prefer a more militant approach to race try Julius Lester (great name or what?). He said he'd rather sit down with a southern sheriff than a northern politician, because at the end of the day the sheriff would say 'what should we do about this?' while a politician would say 'this is what we're going to do about this.'

THE WORLD WILL NEVER WORK THE WAY THEY WANT IT TO. IT NEVER HAS AND IT NEVER WILL BECAUSE IT CAN'T. THEY WILL EITHER LEARN TO ACCEPT IT, OR LOSE THEIR MINDS RAILING AGAINST IT. REALITY IS A BITCH, EVEN FOR THOSE WHO THINK THEY'VE FIGURED IT ALL OUT.

Never be rich ? I'm sure that can never happen by definition. The poorest people in this country are rich compared to maybe 90% of the inhabitants of the world. It is relative.


There may be a tiny fraction of the population that can't be self sufficient for this or that good reason.

The rest of them can't be self sufficient because of their own decisions.
