There you go calling people stupid again. When are you going to figure out we just don't like it when politicians and pundits go around egging on gun-toting lunatics, and suspect that they may even be doing it on purpose?

The logic really isn't that hard to put together. Lunatic + dangerous weapon + idiot from Nevada running her mouth about "2nd Amendment Options" + asshole on Fox scaring the shit out of unstable minds with baseless tales of Stalinistic totalitarianism = People getting shot.

See how that works? Or are YOU too stupid?

Dave

How many gun-toting Liberals have you met? It takes a whole lot of hittin' to beat someone to death with a pair of Birkenstocks.

How many times did you hear MSNBC call for armed insurrection; how many candidates were put in cross-hairs? I suppose someone might take it upon himself to go after the "Worst person in the world," but even us simple-minded folks recognized that as hyperbole. MSNBC's rhetoric subtracted from the reasonableness of discussion, but it wasn't incendiary. The same can not be said for Fox.

OK, Chas, Whell, JJIII and/or Twodogs. Take a moment and read this short piece and please explain where it is that you take issue with it.

Well, I don't think he's 180 out. I don't *blame* Sarah or Fox. But, you know, it's just as wrong to sweep it under the rug. Some stuff has been said that seems a little much, and when it was said a lot of folks said "you know, someone is going to get all riled up and kill somebody if they keep that up". Now some folks are dead, so a lot of folks are, naturally, saying "I told you so". Are they right? Dunno. But I do know this- if you're running for political office, in the light of this, probably would be a decent thing if we didn't hear about any more second amendment solutions or put cross hairs on anyone for a while. It's just not in good taste.

And really, it's probably not in really good taste to defend it. You know, I was thinking about that whole ground zero mosque thing. Lots of people said, yeah, I know that they're not going to organize a terrorist plot there, but it's a symbol and symbols are important. Well, kind of the same thing. The gun sight symbol means something. Does Sarah want people gunning down Democrats? I haven't asked her, but I'm pretty sure she does not. It was a symbol to get people fired up. I just think it's not the most appropriate symbol to use. I thought so then, and I really, really think so now.

Nice to see you again too! I don't know if calling everyone who disagrees with you "simple minded fuckers" is really going to help anything. But I hope it makes you feel better to get it off your chest.

Take care,

Ed

Ed,

I love your posts lately. But, I think it is going to be a tall order to get certain folks to stop doing something that has gotten them all sorts of votes and support over the last few years. I think they know that without it, their support wanes. And, in light of that, I doubt they will stop----this time. If they don't, there may be another, and another, until their position on the issue becomes entirely indefensible. I hope I am wrong, but I really don't think so.

I would like everyone to ask themselves one simple question;
How many of you have been wondering when something like this was going to happen?
And why would you even wonder about it?
Don't care if you answer. Just want you to ponder the question for a while.

Dave
