Bernie got his ass kicked regardless of Joadian proclamations. That's not disenfranchisement, it's what happened.

It's not a system that caused this result.

I don't understand the issue here. If you are an independent and upset that you didn't get to vote for Bernie, why didn't you just do the democratic thing and register with a big D and vote for him.
