The JBL 4406s are good monitors, but no match for Snell Type III Series E. Of course totally different speakers.

Listened to "So What" on the radio and had to take out and dust
off my copy of Miles Davis "Kind of Blue".

This recording of this album is a huge occurrence in the history of
man...monumental.

Tonight was the night for live music. A lot of local organizations are putting on an outdoor jazz festival. Tonight's performers were Vincent Ingala, The Elders (a local Iris group) and Norman Brown. Brown can really pick the guitar. A lot of Wes Montgomery influence, but plenty of rock licks as well. Ingala is a young, gifted, and extremely versatile musician.

After we got back from the jazz festival, I hopped on the car for the drive to Lawrence to see Sobriquet. They keep coming up with new stuff.

On the way to Lawrence and back, I checked out the college radio stations to see what new stuff was out there. Lots of electronica and some rap-influenced rock. Not really my style, but it was well enough executed that I found it interesting.

Regards,

D-Ray

Sounds like a great evening of music Don. Did you have to ride on the roof or strapped to the hood?

""American Routes"" off NPR.

Yes Cajun influenced music in the background, first cup of Joe watching the rain from last night stopping. Looks like a great day ahead!

Someone at AK told me about that group. Nice stuff. How did you find out about them? I always wonder how people find out about some of the more independent artists.
