In addition, neighborhood watch groups advise their people not to carry guns and not to confront a suspect.
Zimmerman wants us to believe he was acting on behalf of the neighborhood watch group and yet, he was in violation of their rules.

Zimmerman was acting on behalf of his own Harry Callahan fantasies and little else.

Thanks for straightening me out D-Ray. I should have said it's not legally justifiable to attack someone just because they are stalking you. This is of course assuming that Zimmerman was stalking, and that Trayvon jumped him.

Although the whole incident is sad. Too bad the kid was violent.
If this is all appearance driven (and it sure looks to be that way) the parents taking out trademarks on slogans sure look bad. I do understand there are good reasons to do so, however I'm also not standing on a corner with a pitchfork and a noose.
Btw, there are big differences between neighborhoods that need bars on windows and those that don't. My experience has shown me that it's neighborhood involvement, and what the residents tolerate.

But he wasn't doing his job, Pete. He was playing Paul Kersey. He was affiliated with no one. He was hired by no one. He called it in to 911 and then decided to play vigilante. An innocent, 17 year old boy is dead because of this man.

Holy crap. The kid didn't start it. Had he been left alone, he wouldn't be dead now. Had someone not been pretending to be a cop, or worse, he would still be alive.

He had a choice. He called the cops and reported something suspicious. Had he done what the 911 operator told him to, the kid would be alive, and he wouldn't have been injured. Instead he chose to take the law into his own hands and try to deal with a situation that he obviously was not capable of dealing with.

There are some problems though. Zimmerman had a hundred pounds on the boy, Zimmerman is a wanna be cop who self appointed himself as the neighborhood guard. Zimmerman had a gun which he showed no restraint in using it to kill a high school kid armed with skittles and Iced tea.
This is fucking pathetic in my book and I am as white as the wind driven snow, and you defenders of Zimmerman are...end of post.

Actually, you are right. His neighborhood watch group' never formalized itself by registering.
Thin line between neighborhood watch and neighborhood vigilante in this particular case.
