That was not an apology, simply a PR effort.

BTW there are some men who just can't comprehend or tolerate a smart woman. Feel somehow emasculated would be my guess.

You sure got that part right, Florence scares the living s**t out of most men. When she had her personnel company (about 80 emplyees) Standard & Poor showed up one day wanting all sorts of info, she gave them 15 seconds to get out of her office.

For what it is worth, I do not listen to Limburger or Maher or O''Reilly, or any other of the talking heads. I do watch news shows that bring on both sides, listen to what they have to say, then make up my own mind. I have been making up my own mind for so many years it is just a habit.

What is with this WE malarky, Bill you were required at the laying of he keel, the fact that you showed up at the launching is irrelevant. Your lady wife did all the work.

Dearest merrylander...we (you and I ) are of a different generation. Today's fathers are right in there for the launching of baby. Indeed some even assist during labor and delivery (cutting the cord). Hats off to them!
If we think of a pregancy as "WE" (both mother & father) its far healthier.
Birth is a miracle not easily forgotten.

While I cherished the opportunity to be present for the birth of our sons, and while we fully consider parenthood to be a partnership, I did not carry the extra weight, deal with ill-fitting clothes, or spend 16 hours in labor. WE are parents, but she gave birth. We are celebrating my younger son's 22nd birthday today. I hope he has known all of that time that we really wanted him to join our family.
Regards,
D-Ray

Painter, I am so happy the birth you witnessed was a miracle. Unfortunately, not every birth is received into the world in a perfect situation such as you describe yours. The mother of five who can barely pay the bills, the young woman who was raped or the teenager who was naive enough to believe 'you can't get pregnant the first time' may see things differently.

My response was not in reference to birth control. I am all in favor of a woman's choice to whatever means she and her conscience dictates.
Early in the seventies when abortion became legal in New York State...every baby (fetus if you prefer) that was aborted...had a death certificate filed.
I don't know if this still applies...but OMG!
