In his dreams. What other reason is there to become a musician?

Yeah, I think he'll keep his day job - whenever he gets one.

I went out and looked at the Chevy tonight. It needs some TLC on the cosmetics, but most of that could be taken care of with a good scrubdown and about a quart of Turtle Wax. The rubber sleeve around the low impact bumper was was completely shot, but that's just a cosmetic issue. The seats are leather, and the interior was in good shape. The best part was when he started her up. That little 305 V8 just purred. No rattlin' shakin' or shimmyin', just solid. I figure it would be a nice quiet ride on the highway.

Seems kinda funny to be excited about a 24 year old car, but compared to every other POS in that price range, it's a pretty sweet little land yacht.

And it's has potential:

LMAO! We all need to get together and roll, 'the possees on Broadway'

I'm sure we older gents'll REALLY shake things up.

I think donked cars look ridiculous personally.

Sounds nice D. Leather, probably a high optioned one! And I've never had a problem with the 305.

I've seen that bumper plastic thing before on GMs now that you mention it. They do sell aftermarket parts for that:

Good luck, post some pics!

Thanks for the link Pete. I had looked at some others, and the retailers wanted around $400. Gotta find out what it'll cost to put on a new vinyl roof too. Most of the sweat equity in the beast will come from the boys. In the meantime, we'll be picking up a free Mercedes for my wife's car.

A free Mercedes? That's fantastic! What is it?

The vinyl roof - that's the 1/4 roof?

I think the vinyl roof is half - isn't that called the Landau?

The Mercedes belongs to my mother in law. She can't drive any more, so my father in law called and said that he heard we were a car short, and we should drive the car. I don't really know the model, but I think it's early to mid '90s.

We were proud that in 30 years of marriage, we had never asked them for anything, but this offer came at a really good time.

Regards,

D-Ray

Iirc the Caprice Landau is called a 1/4 roof - and it looks GREAT! Best looking Caprice of that body style imo. I'm guessing redoing it'll be $3-400, depends on what they think of the wraparound over the little back windows.

My dad told me years ago, sometimes accepting is the right thing to do, because the person wants to give it.
