My impression is this; he is not an intended patsy per say, but he was exposed to information that somebody wanted leaked, and they didn't care how it happened. An un-witting patsy. The information exposed isn't really surprising to anyone.

We were spying on South Korea ? Yeah, they know. They do the same to us. The intelligence / counter-intelligence people all sit down together and have a laugh about it.

Like we didn't know the USA / NATO is making this a proxy war.

IMHO, the information is not damaging in any strategic way, because the Russian aren't going to believe that there is only one US Military advisor in the Ukraine. Not for a second.

Therefore, they'll suspect the training time tables for Germany are planted information, too. Most likely they'll just disregard anything that was published.
