Laurence Tribe @tribelaw
Coming on Monday 12/19/22:
“Among the charges to be proposed for Donald Trump:
18 U.S.C. 2383, insurrection;
18 U.S.C. 1512(c), obstruction of an official proceeding; and
18 U.S.C. 371, conspiracy to defraud the United States government.”
Jan. 6 panel to vote on urging DOJ to prosecute Trump for at least three criminal charges
The report that the select panel is expected to consider on Monday afternoon reflects some recommendations from a subcommittee that evaluated potential criminal referrals.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, though truthfully these referrals are pretty much meaningless in the overall scheme of things. DOJ and Jack Smith are on the case. Bigly.

House Dems poised to release Trump's tax secrets
https://www.politico.com/news/2022/1...taxes-00074171
Just do it!
You would think any taxpayer, including MAGAMorons, would like to know just how much extra they’ve had to contribute over the years thanks to tax cheats like Donny, right, Whell?

I think this referral is a lot more complicated than it seems. Since a special prosecutor is now handling this and technically out of DOJ's hands, why? One of my Dem friends that this push is from Liz Cheney and the moderate Repubs to bury Trump than from liberal Dems. But taking Trump out of the primaries does not help the Democrats since we need the Trump circus during the primaries to help swing the independents.

I don't doubt that Liz Cheney may try to leverage the J6 Committee to her own political advantage, but IMO it would be deserved after her willingness to immolate her political career to take down the Cheeto Benito.

As long as she has no aspirations to run as an independent and with absolutely no chance to win.

I can see such aspirations to be a spoiler as quite honorable, if the GOP nominee is toxic.

Indict the crooked SOB now, throw the book at him but stall on the trial(s) will be the best course of action for the Democrats. Trump can tack on 'Indicted" to the twice 'Impeached' on to his resume.
