The best part of last nights debate was that the moderator didn't make any news. I thought she did a good job, though the candidates did a better job controlling their less than civil impulses last night.
Regarding health care, Biden failed to make the case in a clear, concise manner about what a "public option" would look like and why it would be any better than the status quo. If anything suggesting that a public option is necessary implies that there's something deficient about Obamacare, and it didn't serve him well last night.
Regarding the emails, laptop, etc., I think it was a mistake to bring that into the debate last night. Hunter Biden's business dealings had not been widely reported until recently, and the public at large probably doesn't know much about it. So, introducing it last night might have raised some questions for some, but I suspect the Trump campaign was thinking that they might use the topic to deliver a "knock out" blow, which would be unrealistic IMHO.
