Then let's pass a law that says that automatic guns can only fire blanks.

I once jokingly suggested back in 1994 or so to a good friend but in the tank for NRA (he was a very talented gunsmith who made custom rifles) that the answer to gun violence was to outlaw bullets and that this would not run afoul of 2A. He got extremely upset at my suggestion though I meant it as mostly a joke at that time, since our discussion was on the 2A.

Mass shooting plot at SoCal high school allegedly thwarted by alert security guard

Authorities say they've thwarted a student's plot for a mass shooting at a Southern California high school. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday that a security guard at El Camino High School in Whittier overhead a "disgruntled student" threaten to open fire on the school on Friday, just two days after 17 people were gunned down at a Florida high school.

And, as usual and which makes it very easy and also since the alleged suspect is only 17 years old...........

Sheriff's spokeswoman Nicole Nishida told The Associated Press deputies discovered "multiple guns and ammunition" after searching the student's home.

How about armed guards in every classroom?

Why would anyone want to go into the teaching profession when one has to live with these threats? My wife started teaching in Chicago high schools after graduation and quickly got tired of the constant vigilance for violence. Lasted just six months before going the corporate route.
