A conservative is someone who does not have the balls to accept change.

Name one positive thing Trump has done for anyone except Trump or his hangers-on.

So far, nothing but stirring up hate, stealing as much as he can, spewing nasty tweets at anyone who tries to point out his lies, alienating his own party, trying to pass bullshit as science, on and on and on. Nothing he does is for the betterment of this country; it's always for Trump and his ilk. He's disgusting, as any right-thinking person can plainly see, including most Right wing thinkers.

Some good history telling here:

Quote:
According to Lowndes, the Jim Crow phenomenon was a reaction to the inroads made by the populist movement, which had fleetingly created political alliances of poor blacks and whites against the rich southern planter class.

Lowndes says that southern elites sought to “take blacks out of the electorate and segregate public space” in order to “redivide the black and white core” of the south’s working class and small farmers. The monuments were also elements of this divide-and-rule strategy. They were ultimately built for a white audience, as “elements of a culture that directed whites towards beliefs that aligned them with the planters”, says Lowndes. “It was a political project. Any political project requires symbols, and an imaginary.”

More like a home run given that you've failed to reply to post 156.

What do you think of President Trump?

We aren't. We're still addressing the disconnect between our Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and the institution of slavery.

It's both, imo.

I think the Civil War's underlying cause was the disconnect.
