Gave a voice of legitimacy to the bigots and racists, mainstreaming angry wacko's. Plus showing the issues and laid out plans take a backseat to emotions like hate.

Often times I am not sure that he is all there. He seems to be deranged or out of control, and totally out of touch with reality. He is a sick dude imo.

I do not believe he should be the president, neither do I believe Clinton should.
My reaction to the linked piece does not imply that Trump is mentally fit for president.
I am saying that the piece is slick.

I think it was a pretty good opinion piece. It doesn't answer your question though.

You are mixing up voice with legitimacy.
Distillation, ventilation of the views of angry wackos, racists and bigots makes for a vibrant democracy.
Issues and plans have often taken a back seat or given lip service regardless of Trump. Ironically Trump was the one pushing certain important issues - infrastructure, overseas over extention, bad trade deals.

The piece starts with Trump: I might not accept the result...I will wait and see.
Is there any modern example where the outcome of a presidential election is questioned by a significant portion of US population which one could regard as non conspiracy nuts?
In recent times the DNC has shown itself to be engaged in very questionable electioneering practices.
Trump unusual geopolitics put him at odds with very powerful entities.
For this rational response the piece sticks him with the Wells Fargo, Shkreli, Wall St. Bankers etc.
More reasonable to put him with them under the heading of a shady business man but not for saying he would like to wait.

He should be with them (for being a shady business man) but not for saying he would like to wait.

Trump has called the results of the election into question before there are any. He is denigrating our entire electoral process. This has never happened before in our history. Should this permanently take hold among the quarter of the electorate that supports him, as seems to have already happened, are you prepared for the consequences?
Beware the Trump that is to come!

When you have a candidate getting endorsements from groups like the KKK with little outrage by him or the party. Silence can be taken as an endorsement of legitimacy in my book.
Banning a religion or a nationally wholesale with again mass support shows the party being overrun by their TP creation.
On Trump putting forth issues, just sound bites like MAGA no substances. From a man who in 70 years only thought about himself and a history of outsourcing once elected will be any different.

There isn't and anyone who believes that Trump can only be defeated if the election is fixed is a bit unbalanced at best.

Trump has run on a P. T. Barnum populism, telling folks what they may want to hear sans substance or basis. His baseless assertions are strictly calculated for emotional appeal to a certain demographic to sell himself as the savior offering the solution to what ails.
Hurry, hurry, hurry, step right up!

No, Donald Trump did NOT get an award from the NAACP in spite of the staged photo op.
