You mean the "spread" hit +10%, according to Gallup. Approval 53%, disapproval 43%.

Even the 'average' spread on Real Clear is in positive territory these days, a nice change.

I think this hurts her cumulatively more than directly. It reinforces the negative image that is out there of her. I think it was MSNBC that suggested this would be the effect. I tend to agree.

I still see it as a (if you'll pardon the term) witch hunt. Benghazi...e-mail shit ...does not weigh into my opinion of Hillary.

Hillary is just the latest addition to the steady erosion of Americans' trust in those with the duty to govern.

Beginning with Nixon and steadily on (mass media has made transgressions available to most of the public), it has been a progressive rap sheet of dodging the rules.

Personal soap operas aside, if we have become inoculated over time to the stream of offences and have decided they don't really matter and are just witch hunts by the "other side" and no longer believe it reasonable those with the duty to make the rules should be held to the highest standard of following them, we should not complain any longer about "criminals in office." We elect them, so it must be OK.
