Gotta love Chaffetz's reaction. Too late, bubeleh. Thanks, Hannity. We couldn't have done it without you.

"Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), a committee chairman and close friend of Gowdy’s, said Thursday on MSNBC that McCarthy’s comments were “just absolutely inappropriate. They should be withdrawn. Mr. McCarthy should apologize.”" WaPo

I miss the fall colors...
Lows still in the mid to upper 50s. Not cool enough to promote much color yet. The rains they are predicting will knock a lot of the leaves off the trees before they get a chance to turn.

High school football has started and the bands are marching. That means work for me when the trombones section mistakenly turns and marches into the percussion section.

I give to you Ms. Kathleen Parker, a very capable and well respected Republican writer at the Washington Post.

"The New McCarthyism is dead on arrival"

"The lead to this column is a deep, guttural groan that originates in the throat and expands into the lungs before collapsing in the pit of the stomach.

"How do you spell hmmmgrrrungh ?"

"What else is there to say about House Republicans’ inability to get something right? And I say this with compassion, I really do. Because seriously? It’s over. Done. Kaput. With Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) recent response to the simplest question about GOP accomplishments in Congress — from Sean Hannity, the friendliest interviewer a GOPer could hope for — the future may as well be called Democrat."

This no-fly-zone + humanitarian corridors stuff sounds more than a bit too clever to me. But I'll try to keep an open mind...

Now, are the Russians expected to go along? Or is enforcing it against them contemplated?

My first thought. All we need is to down a Fulcrum or two and the fat would really be in the fire.

You can bet she focus-grouped this to death and decided she needed to look tougher than Obama since he has been the brunt of criticism for his Syria policy (or lack thereof). It's easy to say you'd do something different, but you'll never have any idea whether it would have worked unless it's implemented. You can bet she'd walk it back as President if it were expedient to do so.
