Mas is a bit radical in some of his beliefs but his old Lethal Force Institute -- before he split off into his own enterprise a few years back -- was personally taught and foundational badassery for tactical survival in an urban conflict involving firearms: a good portion mental. I learned a LOT.

In terms of his writing, at this point he just culls from his vast store of Clinton era militia fodder to make $$$. I haven't seen much recent, save for some pro citizen gun propaganda, in a while.

I disagree with your premise regarding "prepper" status. He just thinks everyone should be armed, all of the time. He also believes police should act as if everyone is.

No disagreement on the latter.
