If you want a good example of proper police shooting discipline, we just had a bar shootouts two nights ago, when three armed bad guys tried to rob our favorite neighborhood bar near where we used to live. Six people shot, one retired lady shot in the back of the head and killed, a retired cop pulled his weapon and shot one bad in the eye, shot the second in the shoulder, and missed the third.

Two of the bad guys fled; the injured bad guy was picked up and remains in police custody at the hospital. a 73 yr old good guy and the bad guy shot in the eye are in critical condition.

Note the retired cop did not need to pump twelve shots at the robbers, nor did he. Need to aerate the robber with the head, he didn't chase after the third robber, and he did most all of this after being shot in the thigh.

The black community is going to have zero problems with this shooting, and most everyone can appreciate the discipline and self control displayed by the retired cop.

This is so apples/oranges there's no point in starting...

But, if we must, shall we add up the innocent people harmed: Ferguson equals zero.

Do you mean that Wilson was savagely beaten and feared the next blow might kill him, while the retired guy merely had one bullet in his leg and therefore could not be fearing for his life?

It looks like Wilson was peeing in his pants, while the retired guy throttled the fear down, maintained a clear head, and took care of business while taking a bullet himself.

And I would agree that one situation was a mortal danger, while the other was about two idiots, so in that sense, it is indeed apples and oranges.

It can't be TWO idiots unless you're letting one of the suspected bar robbers off judgment as you've already reported there were three.

The Ferguson situation was caused by a single robber.

Either way, you're off by one unit.
