Odd mix this morning:
'Al Jolsen Story,' with himself, the Mills Bros, and the Andrews Sisters.
Ventures, 'In Space.' Got 'Out of Limits' on it, otherwise forgettable. There is a Ventures song with lyrics, believe it or not. The lyrics are
"AAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
And now a Hayden string quartet, the 'Emperor' quartet, the one with the Deutschland song in it.

The Ventures.
That stirs up some memories.
First of "Telstar", and then, oddly enough, Gale Garnet.
Funny how those associations work in your mind.

The association to Telstar does seem pretty random....

On a whim, I ordered T-Bone Burnett's "Proof through the Night" on vinyl. It was his third album, recorded in 1983. He had a pretty impressive group of friends help out on the album: Ry Cooder, Mick Ronson, Richard Thompson, and Pete Townsend. I had heard several of the songs before, but not together as an album. Mr. Burnett definitely has his own style. I'd have to say it was a pretty well-spent few bucks.
Regards,
D-Ray
