The vinyl version released in 1987 on Capitol when the first cds were issued. A digital sourced UK version on the Rainbow label, which I thought was very weird. I bought it in late 87 right before I ditched peace and love for the MIC lol. I think of this purchase as my last album from the real age of vinyl and my youth.

shit I am old that was 26 years ago!
my first copy of the album was the Apple label one I got for Christmas in 1976...which really makes me feel ancient.

for some reason this drugstore in Lorain (Marshalls) had Revolver, Hey Jude and Abbey Road for just $3.99 whereas in the other stores they cost about two to three dollars more. My old man grabbed them for me.

OK...I screwed up when I tried to post this youtube on the movies thread...so I figured I'd post it here instead.

Kongos - "Come With Me Now"

I think these kids are great. Four brothers...the Kongos brothers. And the video is from Holy Motors...one weird entertaining movie.

Sailin' Shoes by Little Feat

It's so easy to slip
It's so easy to fall
Let your memory drift
and do not learn at all

All the love that you missed
All the people that you can't recall
Do they really exist at all?

Revolver was one of the first albums I ever bought. Sears had a red tag sale - 10% off of any item. My grandma took me over.

My copy was the original (at least in the U.S.) Capitol Records. It was '67 or '68. I earned the money by digging the leaves out of the stairwell. (Not too many jobs for ten-year-olds then).

So much for the trip down Memory Lane. It was a heckuva introduction to the pop/rock music world. I listened to it again a few years ago, after I got into the vintage gear habit, and it was as if it was brand new again. What a ground-breaking album.

Regards,

D-Ray
