Russian air force has now come to the aid of Assad in Syria and is busy bombing rebel forces, a distraction and an expense which Putin would have liked to avoid. Doubt if Iran or Russia will commit any more ground forces unless Putin can get Lil Kim to send more of their forces to Syria.

Rebel forces are a united force made up of multiple factions and if they continue to hold firm, this will make Putin look weak and inept. He is probably looking at how the Israeli's obliterated Gaza and see if he can do the same. Or write Syria off as a lost cause which is what it looks like now with the underpaid Syrian army folding and retreating.

The biggest fools are those obsessed with Pootin, especially those leaders in Europe who have led their countries into deindustrialization. Check the massive down turn in the European engine Germany. Germany is sending its industries/factories to China and USA. UK? France?
They have all been played.

The dumbest set of leaders there ever was. They heralded the Green New Deal and before the Deal could get a leg up they (German leaders especially) shut down their nuclear stations. Then they started to "terrorize" their farmers by trying to put the weight of transition on them.
Now they are putting tariffs on the cheapest quality New Green Deal equipment coming from China.

The West spent so much time agonizing over Pootin that it went to sleep on China and missed China's rise. WTF the dumb Germans sold KUKA to the Chinese. The US did not notice China in their backyard (Latin America) now it is reaching for Marco Rubio and threatening Brazil and Peru. Africa! That is another story.
Pootin is a huge distraction. Now all Europe and US have left is TARIFF. The Chinese have beaten both in trade to the extent that the US is threatening it allies especially Netherlands, S. Korea and Japan, regarding what they can and cannot sell to China.

Nobody living in factual reality here is "asleep on China", we informed citizens are well aware of their goals to reestablish and expand their version of the "Greater Asia Co-prosperity sphere" under their control, and economic dependence for control elsewhere by commercial competition and generous loans with strings to 3rd World countries to create dependence and influence.
Putins encroachments in Europe carry historical echoes of testing US alliances there in the here and now.
