They can't (legally) cancel the midterms but they can manufacture a reason to "postpone" them. Dementia's itching to invoke the Insurrection act as a prelude martial law/national emergency. Interweaved in all that, blaming it on the Democrats/Biden as a bonus.
Of course if they can't pull that off there'll be claims of widespread voter fraud even before the first vote is cast.
