Yeah, that's why we had the JCPOA.

What’s making some countries daydream about nukes again?

Quote:
Today, nine nations possess nuclear weapons, a fraction of the several dozen that are technically advanced enough to build them. In the worst case, the number of states with nuclear weapons could more than double in the next two decades.
Quote:
Seeing two countries that have nuclear weapons — Israel and the U.S. — attack Iran, a country that does not, is likely to create even greater interest among some vulnerable states to consider pursuing their own nuclear programs. The growing military ambitions of Russia and China, plus the uncertainty surrounding America’s commitments to its allies, all add up to a potential surge of new nuclear-armed countries.

Iran had also signed the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

It's so politized it's impossible to tell how effective it was. Biden did offer Iran to reup the JCPOA if Iran complied. Apparently they didn't, and Biden did end up putting more sanctions on them. Listen to the tone of Blinkens' comments about Iran:

It seems to me the the more rational approach would have been to continue to send inspectors to Iran per the conditions of the JCPOA rather than bombing the shit out them because Bibi said so.

Nuclear technology was transferred to Iran from Pakistan in 1980 according to this report from Indian Express which is considered a credible news organization.

The fact that Iran still does not yet possess nuclear weapons may mean that they were not all that keen and now that they have been attacked, their stance may change. In fact I will bet on it as long as they have a market for their oil. If damage to their three nuclear facilities is minimal, all the more reason for them to accelerate the program since they may feel that their facilities are immune to Israel or US bombs.

Democrats rage as Trump limits classified intel sharing with Congress

Donny clearly wants to position this as a "WIN!!!!!" to his idiot base, and is clearly hiding the fact that it was anything but. Disgusting, but SNAFU.

By now it is apparent or should be to any paying attention. Any information released by this group in charge is suspect. Anything harmful or off message put forth is by mistake. From a non indoctrinated cult follower soon to be discredited replaced and then contradicted.

The only "truth" is the one out of their masters mouth at the moment. When a different "truth" is then told the old one is forgotten replaced by the new....

This is the issue with nuclear proliferation, right, that the more people have access the more likely a crazy person (State or non-State) will be able to vaporize Tel Aviv (Or London, or DC).
Pete
Unfortunately that genie is out of the bottle. Hopefully some "crazy person" in Israel doesn't decide to preemptively nuke Iran. After all, Bibi says Iran will have nukes any minute now.

And now for a comment from the other side.

“The Islamic Republic slapped America in the face,” said Khamenei, 86. He said U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities did not do “anything important” and that the United States only intervened to save Israel from being “completely destroyed.”

Looks like the word obliterated has different meanings in English and Farsi.

F47 is on to bigger things like pocketing money selling his Daddy theme T-shirts for upcoming Father's Day (or is it Fuhrer's Day?).
