'Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly'

"After two test flights ended in dramatic explosions earlier this year, SpaceX's ninth test of its Starship vehicle experienced a "rapid unscheduled disassembly" on Tuesday, May 27, SpaceX confirmed on X." USA Today

Poor Leon Muskmelon's rockets must be made with the same attention to detail as his pickup trucks.

I wonder how many taxpayer's dollars went up in smoke this time? Too bad he wasn't aboard...

SpaceX has a $4Billion contract from NASA, chances are this is Cost+, so I would not feel too sorry for him. And in case he fails, we have Bezos who also owns Blue Origin sitting on a $3.4Billion contract and I bet he is not feeling sorry for Musk.

Question remains, are these private enterprises up to the task of NASA?

Musk has made enemies. Some may be involved with his rockets....

"If this factory ever produces a Starship that can actually be fired, I will be very disappointed."

3rd exploded rocket in a row.
Even North Korea's rockets aren't as faulty as Musk's starships.

I know Musk isn't very popular, but 'we' (humanity) should be rooting for their success.

In order to clean the planet and sustain our standard of living (and enable others to do the same) we have got to get heavy industry into orbit and beyond.

Right now (and into the foreseeable future) this is the only way it's going to happen.

How about we substitute the word "SpaceX" for the word Musk?

How much money does SpaceX get, and how much does NASA get each year?

Just curious.
