He is not going to invade. It is audio pressure...jawboning. Greenland only has 56000 people. US is going to find someone willing to make a deal.
The security issue I believe is just a screen. The real deal is economic...promising business for Trump's friends whether Rep or Dem.
Notice he sent a Trump as a forerunner.

Denmark sent Trump team private messages on Greenland.

Wow! The smart Danes see what is coming and want to be on this train.

That cannot stop the train. Greenlanders are seeking independence from Denmark. The US is going to influence the process. It is just 56000 people.

furthermore - All Greenland has to do is look at how the US treats Puerto Rico to get a hint of what their lot would be under a Trump/US hegemony.

No real offense, Dondilion but weren't you the one claiming the Mayor of Mar a Lardo was just "jawbonning"?

Of course he is Jawboning. LBJ use to do that a lot locally when he wants things to move in a certain direction.

US money will be spent in Greenland looking for amenable leaders. As a matter of fact leaders will come jostling for a taste of the investment spread. The imperative is even greater since the Chinese have banned export of a lot of minerals.
The Greenland thing will occur without force of arms.

With population of 56000 one can reasonably assume a voting population of say 30000.
The task then is to promote Greenland independence so as to avoid Denmark complication. This is doable with enough NGOs on the ground.
