They weren't clueless; but rather, simply putting forth their own biased hopes. That said, it was clear, rather early, that Kamala was a poor choice. Personally, I'm glad they picked her and not a more viable politician. After all the dirty tricks the left put forth over almost a decade, I'm quite happy that we have Trump heading back to the Presidency.

There are no Democratic "dirty tricks" to compare with what Trump did in the 2016 election and most certainly in the 2020 election, both of which got him (and a bunch of his minions) indicted for election fraud, perjury, obstruction and other crimes. Indeed, the Georgia indictments revealed quite clearly that the 2020 Trump campaign was an organized crime organization (not that this wasn't clear already to observant and informed Americans).
